help!!!!! rottweiler tantrum problems

i have a 5 1/2 old rottweiler. he listens very well when my boyfriend and i are home, but in the morning i take him out and he gos #2 twice, 20 min. later my boyfriend takes him out before he leaves for work. then puts him in his kennel for extra large breeds. when i get home, the kennel is filled with #2, which he has been stepping in and rolling in. it takes me about an hour everyday after work to clean the kennel and a nother 20 min. to clean him. And yes i mean everyday for the whole time i have had the dog. which was since he was 7 weeks old. what can i do, i am so tired of cleaning it up everyday, and scolding him isnt helping he seems to do it even more. please any suggestions before i have to get rid of him?

Feed him in the kennel and nowhere else. Only feed once per day in the evening right before your walk.

Is he sleeping in the kennel at night or do you put him in when you are away only? He should be seeking his kennel out if he thinks of it as his "cave" he'll avoid if he thinks of it as punishment. Then it might be separation "revenge" or boredom. You could try an outdoor pen as an alternative.

Bit of a problem, I feel for you, when do you feed him? My suggestion, feed him as soon as you get home from work, then nothing else after, cause they can't poop out what they haven't got in. Him rolling in it is boredom, give him a Kong toy, or a bone,(can make him poo though), see if a neighbour can let him out once in the daytime. He needs a lot of exercise, min. 1 hour a day, preferably am and pm.
Build him a kennel and run. It is not healthy for your dog, having such a large breed to be caged all day.

Your dog is in need of an outside kennel. dogs don't normally "poop" or urinate where they sleep or live, unless they are not given a choice. If you build or buy a run for him, continue letting him "go" in the morning as usual. This will hopefully teach him by repatition to only "go" while he is out.

well, we leave the kennel open with a blanket and a bone the size of him, lol, loves that thing. and he'll go in and lay down when he wants to, but hes still doing the following me around to every room. and yes i do feed him inside the kennel, i dont lock him in but he knows thats where he eats. as for playing, we live in an apartment, he plays in here all evning, and also gos to the park for awhile to play after i clean up everyday. the apartments not huge huge but he has the room to play. i think his problem is a seperation problem, he thinks he needs to have someone with him 24/7 or he gets upset, and go's in his kennel, hed do that when we left him out, when i took to seconds to go get some food out of the car. wasnt gone 2 min. and he go's. i guess the real question would be, how do you brake a dog of the need to be with someone 24/7? i know hes still a puppy but ive had a couple other ones and ive never had this problem at this age.

Have you considered a companion? Another dog or perhaps puppy daycare for a while. We have them in Edmonton & they are a little expensive.

At the pet store I saw a toy where you record your voice & fill it with treats. When the dog plays with it your voice comes out.

Sound like he misses you too much during the day.
