Question

I was wondering at what point should I get my 3 and half month old puppy to get his claws trimmed? At what age do they typically get it done for the first time?

Also, is it wise for me to brush my puppy's teeth, especially at this age? I know they sell kits, but are they necessary and easy to do?

Start right away with both. Brushing your dog's teeth should be done on a regular basis. It helps with plague and keeps the breath smelling better. The younger you start the better. My female loves to get her teeth brushed but my boy, I didn't try to brush them when he was young and now, he will be a year on Sunday, fights me constantly.

If you never have trimmed a dog's nails before, take him to the vet or a groomer and have them show you how to do it so you don't cut the quick.

Start now rubbing his gums, playing with his paws, brushing him. To clip nails, you can also use a grinder. THat way you can stop if you feel uncomfortable.
