Are Chihuahua's or Pappions lapdogs?

Are Chi's or Pappion's little, cuddly lapdogs? My Pom likes to be near me, but not on me. What about Chi's or Pap's? I need a "velcro" dog.

If you want a velcro dog try the toy poodle they love to be with there humans and love to be cuddled.They will do anything to please there owner.There very easy to train and house break.The bad side of them is they require grooming once a day or second day and clipping by a professional groomere once every 6 to 8 weeks.Other then that there very good companian dogs.They will follow you from room to room and love to go everywhere with you.Some people even hide them away in bags that are made specially for small dogs and take them shopping.Some people even hide them in there bags and take them in the supermarket.Toy poodles will go out of there way just to give you a cuddle.They need to be socialized at a young age as they don't like strangers.If you want any information on toy poodles i will be happy to answer them.

we have a miniature poodle that is stuck to us like glue! He is a huge sweetie but it getting realy old even though he has no gray at all and acts like he is two(he is 11)

Do you mean Papillons? I've only met a couple but they both seemed quite cuddly and I don't have much experience with Chihuahua's but in my opinion all dogs are different and some will be cuddlier than others. My dog is super cuddly but her sister (who lives with my friend) is very independent and will only cuddle people if she is very tired or sick. So even though the Papillons I know are cuddly I couldn't say that they are all like that because they're all so different. I guess what I'm trying to say is that the best way to get a cuddly puppy is to get one who is the most affectionate in the litter. So even though your Pomeranian isn't very cuddly you could get another one who is the complete opposite and loves cuddles and it's not necessarily a specific breed trait.

I too believe that you've got to judge a dog as an individual... saying "a poodle is cuddly" is like saying "A border collie is good at agility". I've met many a border collie who was terrible at agility...

Don't take it the wrong way, but are you young or do you live with young people? How old are the dogs???

In my experience, kids can destroy the desire to cuddle in an animal by forcing it to cuddle. I had a cat when I was 6, and I used to do horrible things to her... I just wanted to be with her, but I used to lock her in my room, or under my blankets and not let her out becuase I wanted to cuddle with her, and given the choice, she'd rather not cuddle with me... I wonder why

But, if you've got someone who destroyed the cuddle need, it may never come back... My kitten grew up to be a cat who was about 15 years old... in the last year or two of her life, she became cuddly with my parents, but never with me.

If you really want the dog in your lap, then hold treats all the time, and encourage the dog into your lap and then treat them...

I would consider it a great thing that your dog doesn't like to be on you. Means that you are not putting yourself into a pool of dominance problems.

my papillon loves to be ware l am, but not always in my lap, but near me. some paps like to cuddly and some do not,

My chihuahuas are TOTTALY lap dogs... I bet papillons are good lap dogs too.

i would say a chiuahuah to becouse they like to be around where they no there safe
