I think it's time to plan a puppy road trip. Be sure to send them this way, very cute.

I just have a question......

How did you determine at such at early age which puppy you were keeping????? I don't have my puppies temperment tested until 7 weeks of age.... exactly 49 days.... and I dont have structural analysis done until then either...... How can you determine at this age which puppy is going to be the "best" puppy of hte litter.

The puppy that I ended up keeping from my last litter was actually the puppy that I thought was the least likely puppy for me to keep. Yet after her temperment testing was done, the puppy I thought I would keep demonstrated some things that I didn't think were good for a show puppy. I also found some structural issues that I hadn't seen previously at earlier ages. At two weeks of age you have no idea what your puppy is going to grow to look like and be like temperment wise.

Beautiful pictures Lissa!
Sprig is very pretty (as is the other one!) They're growing so fast

Lilly's babies are 4 weeks old and 2 of the owners knew automatically which baby they wanted. They said that they just feel in love with them instantly. Actually I picked Lilly when she was only 5 weeks and I was very happy with my choice, as soon as I saw Lilly I knew she was going to be my little girl

Very cute, Lissa! Have you had that sigh of relief now that they're all going to be ok and you can sleep through the night peacefully? I don't think everyone goes by the 49th day testing...I think a lot of folks just know what pup/dog they'd like and go with their gut feeling.

Liss- More please.

I didn't pick Kirby. I went along with the breeder's temprament tests. We had low priority because I just wanted a companion dog; which was fine by me. Funny though, I remember seeing a photo of the brown puppies in a basket (the 2 whites were reserved), and pointing out the one I liked. That one turned out to be Kirby. He was the biggest, most dominant one.

Aw so cute! They are just precious! I can't blame you having one picked out for yourself already. When we got first pick from my stud's litter I had him picked out by week 1 when we first went to see the litter. And I just didn't know it. But when we went back at week three, I picked a little boy and and just thought the world of him and the bitch's owner said it was the same one. I asked her how she knew and she marked him with a razor. Shaved a bit of hair off to mark who was who. Some times you just have to follow your heart.
