whiskers falling out
hi my black labrador has lost 2 of its whiskers for some reason
one fell out about 3 weeks ago, well i say fell out we pulled it out
as it looked infected atthe root and it pulled out with no effort
that hs since healed, but now another one has done the same and left
a white mark like the first.
is this a serious problem, and what should i do.
thanks

Does your dog have any other skin issues. A couple of infected whiskers is not major but I would try to find out what caused the infection in the first place. Some possible causes, insects including fleas, chemicals, other infections in body, etc.

as far as i can tell he doesnt have any other skin issues
i take it you can physically see fleas, and he has none.
not been subjected to any chemicals and he hasnt got any infections on the
body, although a couple of months ago , he had what looked to be dried
dirt on the edge of his ears, that looked like scabs, which fell off
in time with tiny clumps of fur. the vet said it was nothin to worry about,
something to do with possible minor circulation problems to the outer ears????
its just concerning that one whisker pulled out with ease, having looked
infected, healed up to leave a white spot, and then 2-3 weeks later another
one has done the same.

If it's a concern, be sure to mention it to your vet. Might even be worth a phone call in the am.
