Hi after putting on my first post im hopeing i can have some help

i have a newfoundland she has been mating but no tie was done
iv just got back from holiday and my mate had her now me looking at her she looks like she has put on a good amount of weight in 1 week and her nipples are all hard and with the first 4-5 nipples they have lumps behind them what is this?

could she be having a litter
her food intake has increast and she looks fatter slightlly

Hi, first off I a NOT a professional breeder.
I know that there doesn't have to be the traditional 'tie' for a a successful mating.
As for the mammory glands having the little lumps, I just had one of my females to the vet for this same thing. After her heat she had lumps under each nipple. I right away paniced thinking she had tumors lol I'm a big worrier! I know there is NO WAY my boy or any other had access to her so pregnancy is not an option. The vet said she is just this way, lumpy, because she has reached her maturity (like ouberty in people). No reason for concern. Some dogs get this way and some don't. My other girl never had this so I wasn't aware it could be normal. However a few members did tell me here that it could be. As for weight gain, that comes after the 4th week of pregnancy but I have seen a few here that show sooner. Here is a good link:

Hi Kendra! And welcome to the board, emash! Within the next few days you might try to palpate your girl. You can do this by laying your dog on her side, slide one palm beneath her and your other palm over her other side, just below her ribs. Gently squeeze your palms together and feel for little golf balls, these are puppies. You can also take measurements of her abdomen weekly to see if she's growing. If you have her stand up on you (or a chair) so that her abdomen is stretched out, you should be able to feel her uterus. If she's pregnant, it will be about the size of a women's softball, or fit in the palm of your hand. Of course, you could also have an ultrasound done as well. How long was she at your mate's? Was she in heat when you left? Is it possible that she was rottenly spoiled while she was on her "holiday" and not be pregnant?

hi and thanks for the reply no she was coming of heat when we went on holiday
her vigina has gone vertually back to normal we was on holiday for 1 week and she has got bigger round her tummy quite visablle
my friend was only feeding her what we do but also her nipples are all big expesurlly her last 4-5 they also have lumps behind them

her tummy were her back nipples are is saggier then they were when we left and when we left she wasnt eating much now well she eats lots ???????????????
