I wouldn't worry, Poppy did that at times - really freaked us out the first time it happened. Just check to see that there's nothing in his paw (thorn or grit or something) and keep an eye on him but I'm sure he'll be fine. I don't know what word was blocked so I can't comment on that!

Puppies, will over react to issues like that. Clifford did the same thing to me, I was so worried I took him to the vet, because I thought he really hurt his leg. He of course walked into the Vet just fine, and there was nothing wrong with him.
I think they kinda pull muscles, and over extend things.

You want to be careful of Max's jumping at this age, many large breeds can do long term damage. I have a friend with Mastiff, and he was not allowed to climb stairs till he was 9 months due to possible joint problems. I am no expert on these issues, you might want to research large or giant breeds. What I have mentioned will probably make more sense.

i have a 3 month old mastiff puppy that jumped up for a yummy "cuz he couldn't wait the two seconds for me to hand it to him" and when he landed it popped his hip out of place, so i am not letting him go to a new home for about another 6 weeks till that is all healed and the vet gives me the okie dokie...

You are right. They shouldn't be jumping until they are fully grown. 1-2 years, bigger dog, wait longer.

It could be any number of things. What are his legs looking like today?
