We have an 8 month old Welsh Terrier.
About a month ago we moved her out of her crate during the day to a room where there's plenty of space, with a couch and chair. She did fine for a month, but has started to chew both the couch and chair. Tried the spray-on repel product which did not work. Am going to look for some bitter apple. If that doesn't help, I guess it's back to the crate, which makes her cry. (She gets plenty of exercise and someone lets her out midday, but it's still 2 3-4 hour stretches.

We're worried about leaving her that long wihtout water, but I've not located a source for a water bottle which would work with a crate. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

thanks,
Erin Cox-Holmes

Hi. Not sure if something like this exists, but what about an upside-down water bottle that hooks to the cage door, like what you would find in a hamster cage, but obviously bigger. I would think someone out there has something like this. I would be interested to know what you find.

I think I may have found what you are looking for. It's a Lixit water bottle it holds a quart of water, and hooks on to the cage door. It was priced at $6.15. I found it at www.catalogcity.com. Hope this helps you.

When I still crated my dog I had a little bowl of water hooked on the side of the cage for him. Espically in the summer because it got soooo hot. I think its a good idea as long as you know your pup won't potty in the crate!
