Flea Prevention?

Our Schnoodle is 10 months old now and I'm wondering if I need to be concerned about fleas? He goes for daily walks and likes to lay in the grass occasionally, but other than that doesn't spend much time outside. The vet said she doesn't use flea prevention on her dogs, but I'm worried that we could end up with fleas in our house. Opinions on this topic? Thanks!

It's more about your location. Cause i live in Colorado and we don't use any sort of flea prevention.. cause there are on fleas. If your vet doesn't use it, she must not have any real issues.

I've never had fleas in my yard, but people 10 minutes away from me have. If you're concerned, you could always use a topical product such as advantage, or frontline if you have ticks in your area.

we have 3 dogs in our house and live on a farm, the only flea prevention we use is garlic on our boys food everyday. I know it is an old wives tail but for 15 years we haven't had any trouble.

Is your dog scratching? Have you seen fleas on your dog, or in your house? Bathing your dog will usually make them float away into the water if you use a flea shampoo, so you'll see if he has them or not. If you see fleas ask your vet about Frontline. Frontline is tops at our house. No fleas No where.
