I ahve a boxer and I found a product called D-Limonene Shampoo, by Rio Vista Products. My dog was itching like crazy and once I bathed him in this it stopped. It even made his coarse coat really shiny. You should try it. I think they sell it on this site too.

Hey Mandii, I used the d=limonene SPRAY and that worked good between shampoos to stop the itch.

Any shampoo with oatmeal in it should work to decrease the itching. He might have an allergy to that would need to be checked by a vet.

I would say figure out what is causing the itching - treat the cause, not the problem. My female (Denali) had the itchies where she was chewing and constantly scratching. Our vet told us that she had allergies to spores and mold and because that stuff grows in your vent system, when the a/c or the furnace kicks on, they're going right into the air. They gave me some meds that helped, but not all that much. I actually ended up switching her food and her itchies went away completely!!

EDIT: OOOps - just saw the date on this post, it's an old one
