Question bumps on belly

I just got a puppy today and I noticed that she has these little bumps on her belly. They're kind of zit like with puss in some of them (not all). They kind of look like poison oak or something like that.Does anyone have any idea what it could be?She's a mutt (rottweiler, chow, and [something] shepard) mix.I think she's about 2 months old.Any help?

They could be clogged oil glands...where are you from, what type of environment did the pup come from (inside or outside, what kind of bedding was he laying on etc.) and how long have you noticed that he had them? Have you contacted the breeder, if there was one? Is he on the same food he was on before?

Oh yeah...welcome to the board! Always great to have a new person join us!!

Jackie had bumps just like that when she was a puppy, I would just pop them I and she would let me, lets call it a bonding moment.

Could be Puppy Dermatitis (dog under 12 months of age). Sounds like "IMPETIGO" or milk rash. My vet reference book says "it can be recognized by finding pus-filled blisters on the hairless parts of abdomen & groin. These rupture easily, leaving thin brown crusts.

The book recommends skin be cleansed twice daily with a Seborrhea shampoo available from your vet or specialized pet store or dilute solution of hydrogen peroxide (or surgical soap) It also says in most cases the dog outgrows it.

Mara often gets a red rash and small pustules on the hairless unprotected part of her belly after running through the brush at the river. My Vet told me to wipe her belly off with "Hibitane" or some other kind of antiseptic soap after she runs to avoid skin infection. Since I've started doing this regularly she doesn't form the pustules any more. I would ask a vet, though, if it is too strong a cleanser to use on puppy skin.
You just got her today---do you know if she's seen a vet recently or if she's had any immunizations??
Nice to meet you ---look forward to hearing more about your pup!!

Dax, I would avoid hydrogen peroxide.. but a clorhexidine scrub (which is surgical scrub) would be fine.

Hydrogen peroxide often kills everything.. good and bad. Somehow people think it's good to use.. but really it's corrosive and kills all cells that it comes in contact with.

Doesn't hydrogen peroxide eat away at the skin tissues as well?? I was told that when the girls had their ears pierced, but never looked into it.

How are your nerves...waiting for your test results??

I would advise seeing your vet, Poppy had some puss filld spots on her belly and I just treated them with antisepctic - turned out it was a skin infection requiring antibiotics to clear it up. You'll be seeing your vet soon for first shots so they should check her out anyway but if not I'd just ask them.
