How old is your dog? Do you have any benadryl? I give my dog benadryl occassionaly for allergies, but I am not sure of the age of your dog. If you have the liquid you could go by the childs dose and go by her weight.

Well, I wouldn't do anything unless she is having a negative reaction. It she begans the wheeze or becomes lethargic, I would give her some benadryl, and try to get a hold of a vet.

Otherwise, think nothing of it.

You can give benadryl as well as aspirin to help with the inflammation if need be. Sorry but I can't remember how much Benadryl to tell you to give But like Moo said, I wouldn't worry too much about it. My dogs have been stung before with little to no reaction, so you must observe your dog and its behavior to see if it is really bothering him or not.

Here are some "non medication" first aid for insect bites (from vet reference book)
1. Identify the insect
2. Remove any stinger (Bees only) with tweezers
3. Make a paste of baking soda and apply directly to the sting
4. Ice packs to relieve swelling and pain
5. Calamine lotion to relieve itching.

I would take to an Emergency Vet Clinic if the swelling starts to interfere with breathing.

My dog used to get stung all the time.. she lived in the bush in our backyard.. which conveniently also had a nice swarm of bees/wasps (not sure which). Anyhow, she'd always come in the house after being outside with a lump of some sort. She seemed to be fine.

Keep a close eye on it for the next 24 hrs and see. If things change, call the vet first.. and then perhaps get the proper dosage for benadryl for your dog.
