Awww poor Pandy! It must be uncomfortable for her!
Do the phantoms last for 9 weeks - like an actual dog pregnancy and then disappear? Or can you get something to stop it sooner??

They go thru the whole 9wks. According to the vet it's best to let them go. At the end if they don't 'snap out of it' there are things that can be done.
Pandy is going to be spayed. When I bought her, we had planned to breed her. That being said my breeder/friend wanted one pup as partial payment. Given the fact that she is so tiny we are going to revise the contract She was 9.8lbs last check up. I think she has maybe gained a little with the phantom but she is too small to breed- according to me that is lol

How much longer does Pandy have to go?

It's a good idea to get Pandy spayed. She is a little girl!
At least Sharon's a good size for you!! Are you going to try and breed her again this year?

Please give Pandy a hug from me and Lilly! We hope she doesn't feel too uncomfortable and that she snaps out of it at 9 weeks!

The only non physical changes in Pandy is that she is more lovey dovey and a tad less active. She still bounces around the yard like a total crazy quirrel!! She still finds sticks and rocks to play with outside. Inside she is less inclined to get into trouble LOL I think that's a really good thing-especially for the monster!

As for Sharon I am not sure yet if I will try to breed her....I might wait until next spring. I just haven't decided yet. Tough choice. She is so incredibly motherly towards Pandy & Kody LOL What a litter huh?

I thought that Poppy was having a phantom after her first season but my vet told me it was only considered a phantom if they produced milk. He also said that if it was a phantom it was best to take her in and they would give her medication for it to bring her out of it straight away. Isn't it strange how vets give different advice for the same thing???

Anyway I hope that Pandy feels better soon (and I hope she doesn't chew any kitchen appliances like Poppy did - lol).

LOL Pandy isn't a chewer, if she were we'd never know she is not even 10lbs
Actually she has bulged a bit so she is just over 10lbs.... 10lb 3 oz.
She appears to be feeling great....right now they are all playing.
She is just calmer and more hugable!
Sharon had a phantom, no milk with that one and she came out just fine.
Actually I bought Pandy and she just figured that was her baby
She's still mom to Pandy--and MY son.

Wow, 10lbs 3oz - she's going to have to watch her figure - lol

That's what I don't understand you see I didn't think that milk was a requirement for it to be considered a phantom (Poppy had all the other signs - I posted on here about it) but my vet said it wasn't a phantom... anyway, she came out just fine too!

Glad that Pandy is calmer - Poppy went crazy at times (hence the kitchen appliance - a very nice steamer) - talk about bad PMS!!!

Perhaps I should have convinced hubby it was the right time to buy another puppy oh well, there's always next time...

LOL it really did work. She got a puppy and no labor
Pandy doesn't have any milk...hope she doesn't get it too!
Next time with Poppy you can tell your hubby how well
it worked for us to get her a puppy
This last 'breeding attempt' for Sharon ended in resorption.
She went thru it all, milk, nesting the works! She also
came out of it on her own just fine.
LOL@Pandy's weight. She has gained a good pound with the phantom.
A few people have suggested she is having a true pregnancy,
but Ozzy had NO access She's just as crazy as her adoptive mom
(Sharon) Ozzy also did not show interest. When Sharon was in heat
he went mad, crying and everything. With Pandy he really didn't pay any
mind to her..........and I am sure Sharon wouldn't allow it anyway

Yeah, I wouldn't be too sure about that. Kirby ate a good portion of a metal screen door when he was about 8 pounds, that and 2 entire legs on a kitchen chair. LOL
