Ben the foster dog in RI needs a forever home
Hi everyone
Ben is a 4 year old(birthday 2 July) Lab/JRT mix we think. he was left when his old family had to move they figured he would be found at some point. he is about 20 to 25 LBS. light tan with white feet. he his shy with new people but warms up after a little while. he was great with all my other dogs. he is afraid of little kids because the kids he lived with were alowed to hurt him. he has learned to be in a crate when we have to go out, but he hasn't even looked at the trash or the kitchen counters. he hasn't gaurded toys or food yet. he is great in the car. I think he would be great in a home with one or two adults and or maybe older teen or young adults. don't know how he is with cats yet. so far he seem to have a funny little personaly. We are in Southern RI and can get to most towns in MA and CT without much trouble in order to get him a great forever home. thanks for any help Sue |

Darn saluki-sue,
Ben sounds like an awesome dog, anybody would LOVE him!!! Although I am in your area (kinda... My B-friend lives near the Westerly RI Rail station, I am going there on 8/13) However, I am afraid I have a young son and a very nastty kitty Plus two small pups (Tzu's)....one very old and with health issues. Are you fostering Ben??? If so I think that is GREAT!!!! But if you can not any longer is there a no-kill shelter near by you can take him to??? He sounds so great I think he would be adopted ASAP. I have room in my heart and home for Ben, but with the pets I have now I need to decline for Ben's sake. But please keep us informed about Ben, and also we would love Pic's of this wonderful dog you describe!!! Hugs and prayers for you and Ben |

I would definately take in all the dogs you guys are giving away if it weren't for my parents, limited excercise places (new "law" in NZ), and other pets. Sorry about that though

I try hard not to take a rescue unless I know I have the time to keep them as long as it takes to work throu their issues but so far so good with this little man. he has his first try last night outside his crate. he olny tryed to get on the bed once then he slept on the sofa and he came and woke me up at 6:30 am to let him out. his only "thing" so far is he doesn't like to be left alone in the car and I being a brainless human took him yesterday and no crate so he used my seatbelts as a stress reliver......Duhhhh new dog......use a crate when will I learn....
thanks again for the help everyone Sue |
