Sentinel?

Just wondering what you guys thought about Sentinel? I'm pondering the thought of putting my dogs on it.

Any comments?

I have heard conflicting recomendations for Sentinel on this forum. Hopefully some will answer with their reasoning pro/con. I have use Sentenal for both my dogs and think it works great. I like the broad spectum coverage--heartworm, hook worm, roundworm, whipworm. It also interferes with the reproductive cycle of the flea so it the dog has fleas before treatment starts you need to also treat to kill the fleas. Everymonth mara gets her special treat and gobbles it right down.

I liked the idea of the broad spectrum also...I would like to hear pros/cons from everyone though.

Could someone provide a picture of it? I would like to see what it comes in, can you get it at Petsmart or Vet office?

what about ticks?
my coworker uses sentinel, but she lives in a more urban area than i do, so the additional insects covered by frontline plus are not a factor for her. one pill a month works for her. i live on the edge of a field/wodded area, so its worth my money to go with the interceptor for the internal parasites, and frontline for the fleas ticks and some sort of lice.

My breeder is currently using Sentinel. I haven't had any personal experience with it, but I know that it was recomended by her vet and is probably what I will use when I get Alfie.

its like it, sorta... its a heartworm preventative that covers three different worms, and has somethingin it that interrupts the life cycle of fleas by making their reproductive organs not work right.

I have used Sentinel on Kirby since he was a pup. I think it's great. It keeps the fleas and worms away... Ticks aren't a problem here... Worms are the important one.
