Unhappy Feed Time

How can you tell if a dog food is a Good brand?

What makes a Dog Food a Good / Bad brand?

What can a Good Quality Dog Food improve in your dog?

What can a Bad Quality Dog Food do to your dogs health?

What is in Good Quality Dog Food? What is in Bad Quality Dog Food?

How can you tell what your getting by looking at the ingredients?

I heard that feeding your dog homemade: Chicken, Rice, Gravy and some sort of vegetable (Carrots and Peas) is very healthy. Do you think homemade is the best way to go?

If you click on Search and enter dog food or RAW you should get lots of info on this topic. It's been discussed a lot here. Many folks have had these same questions.

Look at condition of your dog. Are your dog's coat and skin nice? Is he energetic? Does your dog show the physical strength that his size potential would tell you? Will he eat it willingly? How is his weight? Does he have weird discharge in any parts of his body? Read the back of the bag - Is it high on protein, low on ash and fillers (corn, soy) - which give your dog nothing but un-needed weight, and maybe some skin irritation.

Homemade, I wouldn't give myself. It takes a lot of research to come up with a good and balanced home made diet.

His Coat is nice, does get dirty fast and I have to bathe him one a week or everyother week, but hes a outside dog. The skin is fine. His strength is good, he can take down his sisters and sidnie..his nick name is Moose! lol
He eats willingy alright Gobbles it down in 2 seconds...sheesh what a pig lol
Wierd Dishcharge is coming from his eyes, its green, not clear.
Ill have to check the bag later..we have a container, we buy the bag and dumb it into the container.

while it's definately set up to show that the dog food they are selling is the best one to get, i found this to be a very good site for information anyway.

Interesting site, but I don't really trust sites trying to sell a product to be really objective. And they're only comparing with lesser quality products of course... And it looks really expensive.

as i said, it's definately just a site to highlight their product, but the information up on top is very good to learn about what sorts of things to look for in ingredient lists.
