Red face lump at groin

my 7 year old jack russell has a lump on the inside of his right leg near his groin it doesnt seem to be causing him any pain or disscomfort but i am worried about what it is . i will be taking him to the vet later tonight but any help given now would be greatly appreciated the lump is around the size of a golfball and is soft. couldd it be a cyst or an infection from a bite or something . thanks

does the lump seem to be floating or is it attached? Hard or soft?

How old is he? My old dog Jack has lumps like those, they were very soft and squishy but didnt seem to cause him any pain, they were fat pockets on him, About how big is it?...oh golfball, sounds exactly like what Jack had!

Have you took him to the vet yet ?

Could be a sabeceous cyst or some type of tumor. The vet usually will stick a needle in it( sounds terrible ) and extract some of the liquid from it and test that for cancer.

Hope he is ok and keep us informed.
