Dobermoms dog rescue!

Well, I came home from a long but productive day at work to find a flyer in my mailbox.
Goes something like this:

Can you help me?
My people moved away weeks ago, and left me without food and water.
The neighbors are helping, but I need a home.
phone number
So, I call, and ask questions. I go see the dog. I TRY to leave, dog gets out of yard. Dog is now in my garage!
She is cute. I think she is just under a year. A britany spaniel/springer spaniel mix.
Clifford loves her and Meka really enjoys her. She is smaller then Meka, so it is easy for Meka to be in charge.
The rumor is the people are going to pick her up Tuesday.

So, my question, do I take her back and see if the people come, or do I try to find a rescue or the humane society to take her?
I dont think the people deserve her!!!!!!! But, I CANT keep her!

I would try to re-home her if you can... Hey Ken got room for one more LOL.

Anyone who would do that doesn't deserve her back. If they come to you on Tuesday, before you give her back make sure you give them a piece of your mind.

Well Tuesday is tomorrow. Actually you aren't obligated to do anything. You could literally open the gate and let her go. You could phone the humane society in the am and see what they say.

What they did was horrible and they should not get her back! Can you keep her long enough to find her a new home? I'd hate to think what her life was like with those people.

What kind of morons would leave a dog for weeks and then come to get her later? I mean, if the neighbours won't so nice, she could have died on her own.

I'd go with re-homing her, foster round two, Traci

I can only think that if they mistreated her like that once, it'll probably happen again. I'd probably let the humane society know what they did. Maybe those types that consider dogs a "throw away" object.

I have to go with the Humane Society/rehoming route. Those people don't deserve to have a lovable dog as a companion. Good luck.

I agree with everyone else. Imagine what could happen to her if they take her back? She could make a great addition to another family that would actually care for her. I wouldn't give her back personally.
