Sammy's left ear is all bloody (it's dry now). Don't know how. I left it alone, so if there was a cut, it can heal. He's acting very normal.
So am I doing the right thing? Anyone know what it may be from? |

Hm, probably just a scratch. I'd wash it, get any hanging stuff off, otherwise leave it alone. Yep, for the most part, it isn't bothering him. Leave it alone.

Is it bloody on the inside or outside?

Ears bleed alot, it is probably just a scratch.
Maybe he got it from a stick, the fence, tree bark? |

It's bloody on the inside.
I'm scared that if I wash it, even with just a small guaze pad, I might bother it, or cause the scratch to reopen. Maybe I could lightly wash it with my finger and some water. Thanks. |

If it's on the ear flap it's probably a scratch--there's lots of blood flow into the ear flaps. Is it inside the ear canal itself?

Well, personally I would try to gently cleanse the area to try and identify the area the blood came from. If you are nervous about doing this take him to the Vet, sometimes a bad ear infection can cause bleeding---easily treated, though.
