Another food? Part II

Well, it has been a week since posting my question regarding Wellness food and by Beaded Collies' lack of desire to scarf it up. After some further research into foods and a dog's instinctive behaviors, I have concluded that I will continue with the Wellness, with NO additives. I have been feeding them the Super Mix 5, their chicken-base and will not change that to another flavor of Wellness, or to anther food. Instead of feeding once a day (evening) I am now putting less in each bowl twice day. The results have been that they sometimes eat very little or nothing in the morning, but do eat it all in the evening, sans anything put on it. So, moral of the story is: The dog will eat when hungry (barring any health problems) and I believe I was "over-thinking" the situation. Afterall, dogs eat to live; we live to eat. Thanks, again for all the responses.

Yes, once they get hungry enough they eat. We had the same type of rpoblem with Rudy when he was a puppy. We actually stopped feeding him twice a day becaus eog his lack of interest. So it worked the opposite for us.

Something interesting about water too. If they don't like water that is new to them, bring along a bottle ( 2-4 litre's ) and slowly mis it in with the new water. If you can't bring the old water with you ( if you are on a trip ) don't worry too much, they will drink wihen they get thristy enough. Same goes for horses.
