dog having panic attacks

my peekapoo is 9 years old and for the last few month he has like panic attacks. all of a suddun for no reason he will jump up and act scared. his eyes get real big his tail gets tucked, he starts to pant real heavy,and runs to every room of the house in and out of the bath tub scratching on my leg just acting like he is scared of something.the attacks are lasting longer each tim. i love my little dog and dont know what to do. when hes not having the attacks he is sooooooo loveabul you wouldnt thing hes a dog. he plays tug of war with me and runs outside and everything a dog should do. i need help..............................thanks.......... .........Jimmy

Jimmy, have you had your vet check him out? The first thing I would do is eliminate a physcial cause for this behavior by having the vet check him.

Once he has a clean bill of health, you can try to find a common key that sets him off.

I second what Dax said, vet check and then start looking at other things.

vet gave a clean bill of health. blood test,stool tests,ect. just a little while ago he was sitting on the couch watching tv with me and BANG its happing again for no reason. i just dont no were to turn.
