is in, i have a dog book but there is no pittbull in my book i don't know why it isn't but i'm courios as to what group a pittbull is in

working, but they are not in the AKC which is why you most likely can't find them. Most books don't have pits in them because they have such a bad rap. If more books told people how great they are, then they might be able to work their way up into peoples hearts. They are such great dogs, it's a shame that people treat them that way. They need to be in more books to educate people about them.

I have the Encyclopedia of Dog Breeds (or something like that) and they are in it... I just went and looked them up. Right under American Staffordshire Terrier...

I know it's crazy. I think they are in the working because of their pulling abilities, but maybe they are still in the terrier group. I could be wrong, although I was almost sure. Maybe it varies with registry. They are in some books, I have one with a whole two pages on them. I wish they were in more books. They are such excellent dogs.

they are in the terrier group, not working.the am bulldog is in working. and sometimes they ain't in the book at all because they are sometimes considered an amstaff..
