They bred, but i have some questions???

Hi as i mentiond in my other Thread this is the Bitche's first time...
My Stud finaly caught her today with my help, but when they locked together she yulped and tried to nip me??? I'm sure this is not normal , they were locked for a good 15 minutes and she strugled and yulped like she was in pain... I myself was scared because i never had a Female do this before.... She's on day 11 of her heat.... I have on my calander to try again on the 17th... Should i try again and get another sucessful breeding or should i skip and see what happens ??? Also when they unlocked she was ready to try again
Thanks for all the help

What breed of dog do you have? The biting you bit is not normal. Are the dogs of similar size, the male being a little larger, respectivley... If they are of drastically different sizes, natural breeding is NOT the way to go, and I would stick with Artificial Insemination.

I've heard of it being common for them to be very uncomfortable at first but I haven't actually heard of them biting their owners - I guess that might depend on the dog. Is she normally like that? They can however yelp and struggle while in the lock so that sounds pretty normal. Was she standing for him? It may just be a case of her needing to get used to it. I'd personally try it again and if she seems distressed again I'd seek help and advice from my vet. Also I was under the impression that it's better to mate them closer together (usually every 2nd day until she stops standing) because they are only fertile for a few days but I guess you could check with your vet or another experienced breeder they should be able to tell you that as well! Good luck!

Oh and i forgot to say I'm pretty sure it's normal for them to be ready again after unlocking - it's up to you whether you want to try it that soon or leave until the next time.

I just bred one of my ******* with an hour tie first time, second time one and half hour, I had to assist in tying the bitch so not to drag my male to injure both of them. A normal tie is about 20 minutes but my stud must be SUPERMAN for his ties are long and boreing and stressful to both. I have to go and hold them still as a serious injury can occur to each if one bucks off like friday the bitch did this an dane near put my stud to a heat stroke. He was extended in pain, panting hard, eyes glazed over, i brought him inside and packed in ice and stroked him to calm, he did ok then, but breeding young ******* is very dangerous not knowing their pattern of what they might do and to have a stud like Gino is awesome for I have very uniformed litters bred late into the cycle of some 14 to 16 days of heat I breed and have nice fat healthy pups of a litter of about 9 to 10 pups. I feel more folicales fall during the later part of the heat.

The sperm is good for 48 hours to travel to pregnate the bitch, so do not breed the very next day. Count from day one of dripping to day 14 to 16 to breed for better litters and more healthy ones also, I usually do not post my thoughts of personal things I do but I am here to advise and help u all. I am a top Breeder and this is how I breed and get super pups that sell faster than I can get them born. I am not a back yard breeder or a puppy mill I only breed a bitch that has people that sent in a deposit on them only.........

I bred my chihuahua every other day, and they bred for five days total. She is maiden to, and cried a little with the first tie, I think she was confused at why she couldn't leave. I watched, but didn't try to touch her or anything so I don't know about the biting part. I do know she was confused and scared when she couldn't get away the first time. After that she was ok with it though, and realized she had to wait a bit before she could go. Good luck! Let us know how everything goes and what you decide to do.

Have you bred the 2 again? How did it go this time? I'm assuming she tried biting you, but not intentionally. Most likely, she did it because she was scared and nervous and meant the nip to be at the stud and you were in the way of that. I've had the females cry in the past...whether they're 1st time breeders or 4th time breeders. I really don't think it's nothing to worry about.

Most maiden ******* find the tie very uncomfortable and will groan or yelp
