Call me CRAZY!!

I am really considering keeping this little Britany Spaniel. She is a doll.
I got a call from the National Britany Rescue, and they have a foster home lined up in Iowa, and want me to help with a transport. I have no idea how far Iowa is, I would assume at least 6-8 hours. They dont expect me to drive the whole thing, just the "first leg".
My sister-in-law suggested me keeping her. I thought she would be the first to say your nuts to have 3!! She says if she is no problem why not?

With 3 dogs each get less attention. Is this fair? Meka and her get along GREAT, but the little Britany is a bit nervous with Clifford and wont play with him. Her and Meka play, and Clifford is kinda left out. Poor Clifford!

Any opinions?

i think it's wonderful that you might keep her. i know it will be a challenge to find time for everyone, but it's obvious that you've grown very attached to her.

good luck whichever way you decide.

Dobermom! Three dogs is so much fun!!!!! It is hard yet rewarding. There are times when I feel guilty that someone is being neglected, but all three of them have life pretty good. My biggest complaint is that God only gave me two hands, instead of three, so petting three dogs at one time is an extreme challenge.

As far as Clifford feeling left out since the girls get along so well, you need to take the time for mom and Clifford bonding. Also, you need to separate the dogs for individual and group time. Take Clifford and the brit outside together and help them interact. Play games with the two of them together so that the little girl becomes accustom to him and his size. And then take just the little girl out and leave Meka and Clifford inside for quality bonding and play time, etc.

It can be done. Plus she has only been with you for a short period of time and her previous life was a bit traumatic. She will soon learn to love and appreciate the big ol'goofball.

I think you should keep her. Believe me you wont regret it! We have a little trouble giving all ten of ours the attention they all need but we do a good job of it! They all seem very happy at our house!

Well if Clifford feels left out them get him a friend to play with! lol

Do it!
Spaniels are fabulous! (No, I'm not biased. )

She'll warm up to Clifford in no time. And if Meka has a dog she gets along with really well... I'd keep her.

I am so back and forth its crazy!
I just found out "somebody" has had a few pee accidents in the house!!! They are not huge spots, so I am laying the blame on the little one.
I dont want a dog that is going to pee in the house!

That might be because of her past. I would try simply re-enforcing her housebreaking skills. She sounds like a great dog and in my opinion, you should keep her. First of all, you obviously really love this dog already. Otherwise, why would you consider keeping her? Also, by keeping a dog in this situation that you already know will work, you are making one less dog go through the adoption process, leaving it open for another dog to find a home. In my experience, sometimes it is the thing you would never expect YOU to be doing, that turns out to be the best thing you could do for yourself. I think that you really should give it a shot. Three dogs is a lot more work but it's well worth it. As the saying goes, three's a charm!
