what to do?..reba

well as most of you i took back reba after her "owners" decided they didnt want her anymore..well ive had her back for about a month or so..shes a wonderful dog...a few days ago one of my close friend lisa came over with her son.
they walked through the door and reba was the first to greet them she was so excited..she never does this with strangers..well reba would not leave them alone she was all over them ..it was strange but she liked them so much..they have been looking for a dog for a long time now...reba made such a good connection with them the son fell in love with her to they went out in the backyard and ran around and played for the longest time..it was the cutest thing..lisa was amazed they had made such a good connection..reba absolutly loved them! a have a feeling in my heart i should let them take her..they live about a block away and always visit me and vica versa....i have to admit i do love reba but you should have seen them! reba is happy here but she didnt even make that strong of connection with me! im honestly thinking about it..i think they are all ment to be together..it was so amazing!
what do you guys think??

I think you should let her go with them. We had that same situation with our great dane Josie. She was very happy at our home but when she met Joe and Ashley she immediatly made a connection with him. So we let them have her. We havent seen her in around 8 months but we will probably be babysitting her during christmas. We are afraid though because they said she finally gained weight which means that they let her get fat. She was perfect weight when she left our house!

Just always keep in touch with them!

I would consider all the important things before you give her to them - just as you would do with anyone else. (under what conditions will she live, do they have the finances to care for her, will she be safe, will they be committed to her for life and not just until the excitement wears off, etc,) If all is well, and there's have a good connection, I'd let her go.

Great news!
yesterday lisa and her son came over to talk about reba..we talked for a good hour an a half before i couldnt help but think..she was perfect for them and they were ready for another dog..after i checked out the house i told her yes...they both got so excited her son ran over hugged me than ran over to reba and hugged her for the longest time it was so cute..i almost started cyring..i am going to miss reba..but i will be able to see her ofton..
that night she called me from petsmart with a bunch of questions..i couldnt awnser them all on the phone so i went over and met them their...they got soo much stuff for her.. 2 new decent sized beds for the living room and her sons room,a red collar, lots and LOTS of toys, a raised food bowl, shampoos, dog tags and a new kennel.
she isnt going to take her untill friday..she wants to make sure everythings perfect when she arrives...i even talked the training class at the rescue into letting her come to a few classes with me so reba would be refreshed on all the basics, that starts on sunday. yesterday night i felt guilty..but i know their ment for each other! how could i say no to that

Sounds good to me that u left her take a pet to care for and also u can also monerator the pet, not like it is totally outta the area of you. I am sure this will work with you great guidance and God Bless them for taking this on. Hoorayyyyyyy for you, just keep a watchful eye as I am certain you will.

You don't always find such a perfect match. The boy and the dog bonded there in your back yard. It would be a shame to keep them apart. Let Reba go with them under the agreement that if for some reason it doesn't work out you will take her back.

well reba left today i dropped her off about 1:30 and stayed for about an hour an a half. soon as reba walked through the door she didnt bother to smell around she didnt even go check out her new cat friends she ran straight to tyler (the son) and jumped in his lap..i cheaked everything out..they have a raised food dish for her by the kitchen; a huge red dog bed by the couch then another in tylers room. they even had a big basket ful of new toys for her next to her bed. they put a big pink brand new fluffly blanket in her new kennel. while i talked to lisa about the whole thing i saw tyler put the new red collar on her she went crazy and started chasing her tail and jumping all over people. i held back the tears of course but it was hard...ill miss having her around. but i think i did the right thing

I know it was hard for you but you have to know that she is as happy as she can be with Tyler. You will always have the opportunity to see her in the neighborhood. You have made a good decision, I aplaud you for doing the right thing by Reba and Tyler.
