Arrow What are you feeding?

Has anyone used a food out of CT named Blue Buffalo? I like it's all natural ingredients, but can only order online. (Protein 24%, Fat 14%, Fiber 4%). Before I purchase it, i'd like to hear from someone who has used/is using it.

Right now, I'm using Nutro Natural Choice High Performance formula. (Protein 30%, Fat 20%, Fiber 4%).

The standards for dog food set forth by the American Association of Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) require a minimum of 18% crude protein for adult dogs and 22% crude protein for puppies on a dry matter basis (that means with the water removed; canned foods should have more protein because they have more water). A dog food must also have a minimum of 5% crude fat for adults and 8% crude fat for puppies.

I like Nutros higher percentages in both protein and fat, but their #3 ingredient is corn gluten (something I'm trying to stay away from)- top three food allergens in dogs is related to wheat, corn and soy.

Any Advice on these 2 brands/products? Anyone found anything better?

Red face

I feed bagged dry right now with the only access to this being the better of any other is CHICKEN SOUP.
Otherwise for now frozen Bil Jac to certain dogs needing this type. I live in a tiny town that only stalks the rotten dog foods, Science Diet, Eukanuba, Iams, Purina products. If I have to I might break down and buy a bag of Nutro Ultra. But, I do also order online Flint River, but it has BHA in it to preserve, low dose of radiation. I only get the brand for allergeries, it is getting to the point that getting excellent brands of dog food in small places is outta the question. Ordering online, taxes, shipping one is paying an arm and leg and I have 7 shepherds to feed the best I can do. They also get good supplements, but the thought of feeding them food with junk I have found to be blended and ground up in makes me ill.

DogtorJ, who posts on here, also says Barley isn't good. He's a vet.

Innova Evo
It has no grains (including barley)
It's supposed to be as close to RAW as a dry dog food can get. I'm not a huge fan of blue buffalo because my dogs didn't do good on it. They got sick from it. We switched it like normal, small amounts mixed in with normal food over a gradual period, and still got sick.

I use Blue Bufallo and I think it is a great food. I have a rottie and an EB and the rottie used to have bad skin allergies. They are both doing wonderful on it and seem healthy. I can get it at my local petsmart though.

I'm feeding Nutro Ultra Puppy and Cali is doing well on it. When she gets to be a year-old, I think I'm going to switch to Nutro's Lamb and Rice. Dr J seems to think that's a pretty good food.

A dog. HAHAHAHA, get it? I'm feeding a dog. A dog named Kirby, specifically.

Okay. I'm done.

Kirby eats about 60% First Mate - Premium Plus Hypo-Allergenic, low allergy fish & Potato diet
and 40% Innova Dog Dry...
