my puppy is sick, i think

Hello. My pathetic puppy with the broken paw and the cast on her leg and the collar around her neck so she can't eat the cast on her leg, ate some berries today, when we thought she was sniffing around for a place to relieve herself. She puked once, (it was green, that's how we figured it was the berries). and now she's just kinda lethargic...not being her normal puppy self, and looking even more pathetic. She's an eleven week old yorkipoo pup, and I don't really know what to do about this. Should I take her to an all night emergency vet? I'd like to avoid taking her because of the obvious expense, and we just spent a lot on her paw. I mean I'll obviously take her if I have to but any advice you guys can offer, i'd realy appreciate. thanks.

I truly feel she will be okay give her a tbsp of Pepto to sooth the stomach
Please watch puppies they are conviours and eat anything and every thing in site they do not know what is good or bad for them.

This is up to u to watch your youngster carefully and love it and nurter it so kindly and lovinly.
Pups get into anything in site to remove any garabe at their level, and anything they can chew on be on site when the pup is out to potty. I feel giving it some pepto will calm the stomach saved myself alot of unecessary vet visits and along with some tbsp of canned pumpkin for diaherra a quick cure unless a disaster is enevitable for your pet then u need a vet for further adivce. Good luck and God Bless............

I would first call the vet that prescribed the medication to see if that might be a side effect. Some medication may cause nausea. good luck and I hope your pup gets well soon, but call the vet asap. (then let us know how your girl is doing)

Most berries are usually fine, depending on amount. Green can just be grass that she ate because she is not feeling well.

I would not give her some pepto just yet. I would wait for a bit to see if anything else comes out, clear out the system a bit. Then give some pepto a couple hours after the fact. However, it is very important to keep the pup hydrated. Especially being so small and young. Be absolutely SURE that she is recieving fluids.

duh, should have thought of pepto! ( I am the weakest link) Bernice needed that when she was a pup and got sick.

thanks everyone! i really love this site! you're all so helpful and kind. i think she's doing better. she is drinking a lot and she did eat quite a bit so i don't think she'll die or anything, though, my boyfriend is panicking a bit, which is rather sweet; he doesn't want anything horrible to happen to her, but of course, neither do i. it sounds like they're playing together downstairs now, so i'm keeping my fingers crossed that my lil pooch is better. thanks again everyone!

I don't know if I'm too late, but I'd actually call poison control. The berries could be toxic. And anti-inflammatory drugs (which is what your dog is on, i'm assuming) do not cause nausea.

If the berries are toxic, and you don't get the vet in a timely manner, it could make matters worse. Time is of the essence in toxicities.

Hope things all work out.
