My Min Pin

When my min pin is 2 years old, we're going to breed her. What I'm worried about is that she won't know what to do with them. Or she might think they're cats, to be chased. Can a breeder help me out here? She's really rather hyper, loves toys, and so far hates young puppies. If she hurts her own when we breed her I'll cry. ;_;

I wouldnt breed really, My dad could always tell which of our Shepherds would make good moms and which ones wouldnt. If your not certain on how she will act when the litter comes, than I would disagree doing so.

In very small breeds and large too, many ******* first time and everytime will start to eat the placentas and keep eating the puppy. They need to clean them up and if they do not cut the cord, I do, but I am there to whelp each pup. This is what you must do. Take her temperature the last two weeks to establish her normal, when it drops to say 99 or 98 she is within 24 hours to whelp.
This is your turn. To be there with her to comfort her and GOD willing she will not turn out to be one of those that is scared to death of the pain, blames her pups and kills them. I am being most blunt for I had that happen and of course we rid of the dog. She was dog agressive from Germany to begin with.
You have to take the first chance to know, if it happens fix her and forget it. Breeding them is also stressful. Keep a leash on her and keep her calm and quiet, for that frightens them do death also. Many then u find become non breeders, they just will not breed. If u need further help let me know for I have been breeding dogs for many years. I am I believe the eldest member here?

Well if you're the eldest I'm the youngest. lol I've had many accidental mixed breed litters and that didn't happen. But I got more worried when I read that chihuahua thread so I posted this.

It's a little thing called spaying your animal. I'm sorry if that sounds rude, but I'm being honest. It is unfair to breed mixed breeds. Over 11 million animals die in shelters each year because they can't find homes in the US. If you honestly can't afford to spay/neuter than lock your animals up when you can't be with them if they are in heat, If we could eliminate puppy mills and pet store puppies, and these "accidental" litters, then maybe we wouldn't have this problem being as horrible as it is.

There are no "accidental litters"
Only people who are too irresponsible to either spay/neuter, or separate their dogs when needed.

WHAT! How can you "forget" something like that? Do you not notice the blood every time they go into heat? The enlarged teats? The attitude every six months?
