Exclamation Mysterious Limp **HELP!**

Holly has this mysterious limp going on. Sometimes it is really bad (like in this video) but sometimes not at all. We took her to the vet (of course she didn't limp AT ALL! ) and he looked her over. He said nothing was broken and no ligaments where messed up as he could tell. He also said that Holly was too stoic (sp?) to tell him anyhting hurt as he felt her limb all over (she wil not make a peep and will not make any kind of expressioon) We can't tell what it is! We can squeeze and feel her leg all over and she still wags her tail and doens't make a noise. The vet said it should go away in a few days- and she can't have any hard running/excercise (now she isn't taken on any walks around the block anymore= miserable dog)

It has been a week since we saw the vet and 2 weeks since the limp has started (no known cause) and the limp hasn't gone away. We are really concerned and don't know what to do!!!

Does anybody have any advice, comments, help, input that could be useful to us? We would REALLY appreciate anything!!

Thanks,
Gena

Did your vet tell you that your dog needs to lose between 15-25 lbs? That will help with the limping. You can also try some massage on the front shoulders and legs.

Do you notice it when she first gets up? More so on wet, rainy days.

Or is it after exercise?

Yes, he did say she needs to loose a fair amount of weight. She is on a diet, lost 3 pounds last week and 3.5 this week! So, we are trying. We notice her limp after she does any kind of running. We can't stop her... w/o walks she needs to get energy out and she just goes! lol Do you think once she looses all the weight she is supposed to it will go away?

It is likely impact stress. Exercising on grass vs concrete might help. I would not medicate (pain killers) since pain will keep her from over doing it. Swimming would be better exercise if available & if she is willing.

If you notice any swelling, apply cool compresses.
