Just want to go ahead and ask so I'll know.
When will Sidnie go into her first heat, shes 8 months. I will ask my dad later since he knows but hes not around right now and ive been thinking about this for awhile, so if someone could tell me now, that would be great! Thanks

Shepherds, nobody knows when the first heat comes, I had Gillion come in at exactly six months of age, was shocked, some wait till a year old, or older, some at the age your dog is now. Just keep an eye on sweeling of the vulva it swells 3 times its size, then look for a drip, then count day one of first speck of blood, count to ten days some breed then so watch, I breed late into cycles for more uniform litters, nice pigment, etc. Going out is the danger part to be grabbed in a heath beat by a mutt and its over.
Keep checking her if she is licking down there more than average, check it out. If she appears to be swelling and u will notice in due time, then start to keep a sharp eye. If u plan to breed, get hips done at two by OFA certified, if u want to breed earlies get prelims done now, if they do not OFA for $25.00 to going to be good hips then spay her. If they appear good, then find a super stud to cover any faults she may have and all ******* have them. It is up to the stud to make it better. If u do not understand ask me. |

oh ok! Thanks. Was just wondering...we have a daily schedule, heat schedule, breeding schedule, depends when new things arise. Were done, hopefully, last litter took everything out of us lol Well me anyway. Its hectic, breeding, nothing to take light, so many things can go wrong. We got so attached to all our litters, we wanted only the best homes for them and turned down lots of people. Just ask us how we got stuck with 3 GS pups
I want to show Sid, thats why she isnt spayed. Breeding, maybe down the road -but nothing this early definatly, just enjoying her being a dog. When my brother bought her, he bought her and had some intentions of breeding but wasnt sure, as you all know from my past thread..shes mine now. |
