Puppy got stung by BEE

My poor Blue came into the house tonite..limping on the front right and rear right leg tonite. and he was crying..It was so sad...So being the over protective mom that I am with all my babies,I picked up the phone, carefully picked up my pup and called the vet as I was heading to the car...Once the vet was on the phone I INFORMED him I was ON MY WAY...lol..Told him my baby was hurt and I didn't know what happend. .Now my vet is 20 minutes away...So once we arrived,Blue had settled down...and was walking...So we went into the office,at this time I thought my little one was FAKING all this time.. .lol..But no he got stung in the back leg and the front leg and had an alergic reaction to it...The vet checked his mouth out and what not to make sure the bee didn't sting him in the mouth...It cost me a total of $120.00 but was well worth it....My boy is resting now...swelling down..and he is starting to feel like himself again..Poor baby

:O
In my opinion that's pretty expensive. I don't think my vet bill went that high after getting 3 shots the same day. Ahh well. At least you know nothing was wrong with Blue and that he's all fine!

I don't think that's too much to pay for peace of mind. Now you know what to look for in the future. Make sure to let us know how he is tomorrow. Maybe you could ask the vet for the proper dose of antihistamine for the size of your pup and if you know he has been stung in the future you know how much to give.

Well, Ohmai! I don't think you'd want to live here in NZ, the vets charge you like $600 after hours, and $400 just for a normal check up, and $40-$50 for shots...don't want to know what it's like for a horse!

Oh, poor Blue! Well, at least he has a good mommy who knows when her babies aren't feeling well!
