Lucy has the shivers tonight.....

well we were sitting at the dinner table and heard a small rumble - my wife and I both waited expecting to hear one of the children excuse themselves.....turned out to be the dogs teeth! She was shaking like she does when a thunderstorm is in full boom -- but I never heard her chatter her teeth like this before.

Her temp chart started Saturday 100.1, 99.1 and today is 99.1.

She ate her dinner tonight - so I don't think she's going early.....this Saturday is day #64.

I am going to have someone check in on her tomorrow when I am at work....is the shivers a sign that she might not make it till Saturday ?

Shivering can be a sign of labour but if that is her only symptom then I don't think it'll be tonight. You'll notice when she's in hard labour she will most probably be shivering a lot.

Here is a good list of what to expect. But remember they are all different and she may only have a couple of the symptoms yet still be in labour so don't follow it exactly.

My girl with her first litter continued to eat until she started pushing, her temp remained the same and her only real sign was her excessive panting!

Stage 1
Temperature will drop to 98 degrees or so...
Eyes will dilate
She will stare at you and want you near
Refusal to eat
Hide under your bed or a dark place
Laying on her side but can't seem to get comfortable
Mucus Discharge

Stage 2 - pre labor
Digging
Shivering
Panting
Staring at her rear end
Licking vulva excessively
Mild Uterine Contractions

Stage 3 - Labor
Hard Uterine Contractions
Extreme Shivering
Water Breaking
Grunting and pushing
Visible sign of the First pup and delivery (Whelp)
