New Dachshund owner

My father recently purchased a Dachshund for me for my birthday. However, the puppy has very few characteristics of the Dachshund breed. Since my father and I both know very little about dachshund pups I thought I would come here. I have searched the web all over for the physical characteristics of these dogs and they all seem to have the same physical features: Short legs, long ears, long nose, and long body. The puppy that I have has non of these features. She is a small dog, she has quite long legs, her body isnt that long either. She is only nine weeks old; I wasnt really sure if age was a factor or not. Along with the puppy, my father recieved a Pre-Printed Puppy Registration Application from the continental kennel club. The application reads that she comes from the ZANK WINTERVILL (LEMON'S) breed. (I'm not really sure if that will help or not.) My question: Is my dog authentic? My father paid $300.00 for this dog, and It would be really great if anyone could help me out.

Do you have any photos of your pup? Age will make a slight difference.

Where did your father get this dog from? If he got it from a pet store, or from some random breeder in the paper... Anything goes.

Don't even worry about the breed though when dealing with puppy. You have a puppy, and each puppy's care should be tailored to his individual needs.
